Early Education Center
Overview
The Early Education program at Calvary Christian Elementary School (CCES) is a combination of the Early Education Center (EEC) year-round and our Preschool Department 10 month program. The EEC is an active early learning center in which trained and competent lead caregivers and assistants spend quality time caring for and interacting with the children (infants/6 weeks–2 yrs) to support the child’s optimal development. Great emphasis is place on enhancing the developmental stages of the infants and toddlers so that each stage is a stepping stone to the growth of the whole child. Early Education Center four domains of learning include:
- 1. Spiritual Development
- 2. Language Development
- 3. Physical Development
- 4. Social Development
Mission

EEC mission is to build an active learning environment that values children through the power of Jesus Christ. The Preschool program provides a curriculum that is responsive to the need for quality material and procedures geared to enhance learning for active preschool children ages 3 and 4. Degreed and highly trained teachers and assistants are aware that each child is an individual and will progress at his/her own pace at different levels. The preschool curriculum is aligned with the Calvary Academic Standards of Excellence (CASE). Active exploration provides opportunity for concrete experiences that are essential to early childhood growth. Small group instruction meets the needs of students individually.
Infants – PreK
Curriculum
The Early Childhood Center (ECC) opened on September 7, 2004. Our curriculum model is based on the High/Scope Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers with an integration of the three biblical principles of authority, obedience and love. This framework is used to promote a godly, active learning environment that values children. The curriculum includes an observation assessment that focuses on the level of development in areas such as self-help skills, social relations, communication and language. Baseline data is collected and compiled on each child and used to plan activities that support and nurture the child’s growth and development in these areas. Parents and caregivers meet and discuss the child’s growth and continued development.
